Doing some flooring this week. I prefer to sit the expansion gap under the skirting so no scotia needed. I'll generally source new skirting if the previous has been buried under layers of plaster or looks grotty. My top tip is to buy slightly higher stuff so it sits above the edge where the last stuff was taken off. Means a cleaner joint with the walls

Need a light to help with home security? Or to light up the patio during those lazy summer evenings? If you need any type of wattage or control functions fitted as standard then get in touch. Modern lights can have override functions to stay on. Some can even cycle disco colours at the press of a button. Whatever you need fitted and supplied, just get in touch and ask.

My new apprentice's first job is to keep my work pencils sharp in return for his pocket money. I'm quite impressed with the results. Although his hands look like he's been shoveling coal when he's done. Top tip. Artist HB pencils are much better than carpenter's pencils and worth the extra cost.
