Large job to clean up, relay and regrout some tiles that had been laid sloppily and without ply underlay in parts (Straight onto floorboards). There was a lot of old adhesive to remove and spots of paint. Many of the tiles had come loose, and some had been laid with a 40mm layer of tile adhesive! Problems fixed and I was happy with the end result, as was the customer. Always lay tiles onto something solid!

I see alot of these around south Manchester. Once they start going, slapping some more paint on doesn't really work. This one had to be scraped back to where the stone still had some integrity. Then I applied a 3 part epoxy mortar with some braces to get a good shape as it cured. This stuff is tough, cures fast and is sticky to work with so make sure you have gloves and a mask! Or just get me to do it.

A couple of little bathroom tiling projects this week. One on the left, a repeating square patterned tile. The one of the right a floorboard effect longer and narrowed tile. Both underlaid with a latex flexible adhesive onto ply. Quick drying so no messing about.
